Boone 4th of July Parade
July 4

The annual Downtown Boone 4th of July Parade will travel east on King Street, starting at the intersection with Poplar Grove Extension and ending at Legends. Following the parade, the Town of Boone continues the celebration with free cookies and refreshments on the lawn of the Jones House.

 


 

Fireworks Extravaganza at Tweetsie
July 4
Enjoy one of the most popular summer events in the mountains. Head to Tweetsie Railroad for a spectacular fireworks show, starting at 9:30pm.

 

Blowing Rock 4th of July Weekend

July 5 - July 7

Join the Town of Blowing Rock for their annual festival and small-town parade! Enjoy festivities all weekend long, including free entertainment, music and games. The parade will be Saturday at 2pm.

Christmas in July

July 6

Visit historic downtown West Jefferson in beautiful Ashe County for their annual Christmas in July Festival. Enjoy arts and craft vendors, live music, great food, street performers and more!

 

 

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games

July 11 - July 14th

The 64th Annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games will be held at MacRae Meadows on Grandfather Mountain. Over one hundred Scottish clans and societies sponsor this celebration of Scottish dance, music and athletics.

 

Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show

July 23rd - July 28th
The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show is among the oldest continually operating shows in America, held on grounds inside Moses Cone Memorial Park. Other show dates include July 31 - August 4.

 


 

Symphony by the Lake at Chetola

July 26

The social event of the season is Symphony by the Lake at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock. This year's theme is "A Journey of Imagination." Enjoy a moving performance by the Symphony of the Mountains, surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge landscape. Take your seat on the grass by Chetola Lake. Grandfather by Night
June 7 - July 26th
Explore Grandfather Mountain after hours with your own naturalist guide! Watch the sunset and experience the mountain as never before! This unique event will be available weekly on Fridays from June through July 26th.

Journey with Dorothy
Select dates in June and July at Beech Mountain's Land Of Oz
Skip down the yellow brick road with Dorothy as your guide during this one-of-a-kind experience! Part of Beech Mountain's Family Fun Month, the Land of Oz offers these special tours June 6th and 7th, June 13th and 14th, June 20th and 21st, June 26th and 28th, and July 5th.

Music in the Valle Series: Valle Crucis
Now - September 26
The Park’s annual concert series kicks off on May 24th. Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy regional and local musicians at Valle Crucis Park. Local eats will also be available via a food truck on site.

Concerts in the Park: Blowing Rock
Now - October 5th
This Spring and Summer, enjoy free concerts in downtown Blowing Rock’s Memorial Park. Each concert is family friendly with music ranging from blues and country to pop and rock. All concerts begin at 4pm. Concert dates are: May 25, June 16, July 13, August 10, September 7 and October 5.


Art in the Park: Blowing Rock
Now - October 5
Art in the Park in Blowing Rock will kick off on May 25th. Art in the Park is host to 90 artisans at each show. Some of the best local and regional artists showcase their handcrafted jewelry, pottery, photography, painting and more.

 

Summer Outdoor Concerts on the Jones House Lawn: Boone
Now through August
Enjoy summer concerts on the Jones House Lawn every Friday at 5pm from June through August. Concerts are free and open to the public- just bring a blanket or a lawn chair.

 

Todd Summer Music Series
Starting June 15

Todd Community Preservation Organization presents their 2019 Summer Music Series at Cook Memorial Park. The series will start on June 15th and last through August 10th. The concerts are held on Saturday evenings from 6-8pm. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

 

Movies in the Park: Blowing Rock
Starting June 27

Outdoor movies in Memorial Park on Main Street in downtown Blowing Rock. Featuring family friendly films that start at dusk (usually around 8:30pm). All movies are on Thursday evenings and are free admission. Just bring a lawn chair and some snacks.
