In Cold Mud Run: Beech Mountain
Saturday, May 18
Beech Mountain’s first ever family mud run will be held on Beech Mountain’s Wild Iris Trail. A kick off party will be held on Friday, May 17th from 6-9pm, with live music. Race Day is Saturday, May 18th. Registration will begin at 8am.. That evening, a “post-mudder” celebration will be held at Rascal’s with drink specials and karaoke from 6-9pm.

Music in the Valle Series: Valle Crucis
May 24 - September 26
The Park’s annual concert series kicks off on May 24th. Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy regional and local musicians at Valle Crucis Park. Local eats will also be available via a food truck on site.

Concerts in the Park: Blowing Rock
Starting May 25
This Spring and Summer, enjoy free concerts in downtown Blowing Rock’s Memorial Park. Each concert is family friendly with music ranging from blues and country to pop and rock. All concerts begin at 4pm. Concert dates are: May 25, June 16, July 13, August 10, September 7 and October 5.

Art in the Park: Blowing Rock
May 25 - October 5
Art in the Park in Blowing Rock will kick off on May 25th. Art in the Park is host to 90 artisans at each show. Some of the best local and regional artists showcase their handcrafted jewelry, pottery, photography, painting and more.

Boone Fly Fishing Festival: Valle Crucis Park
June 1
The first annual Boone Fly Fishing Festival will be held at Valle Crucis Community Park fro 9am - 1pm. Learn all about different techniques and how to fish for different species.

Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show
June 6 - June 9
The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show is among the oldest continually operating shows in America, held on grounds inside Moses Cone Memorial Park. Other show dates include July 23 - July 28 and July 31 - August 4.

Day out with Thomas: Tweetsie Railroad
June 7 - June 16
Day Out with Thomas is an annual event at Tweetsie Railroad that offers children and families the unique opportunity to ride with Thomas the engine and enjoy a day of Thomas & Friends themed activities. Enjoy crafts, storytelling, amusement rides, Deer Park Zoo, panning for gold and more!

Summer Outdoor Concerts on the Jones House Lawn: Boone
Starting June 7
Enjoy summer concerts on the Jones House Lawn every Friday at 5pm from June through August. Concerts are free and open to the public- just bring a blanket or a lawn chair.


Todd Summer Music Series
Starting June 15

Todd Community Preservation Organization presents their 2019 Summer Music Series at Cook Memorial Park. The series will start on June 15th and last through August 10th. The concerts are held on Saturday evenings from 6-8pm. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.


Movies in the Park: Blowing Rock
Starting June 27

Outdoor movies in Memorial Park on Main Street in downtown Blowing Rock. Featuring family friendly films that start at dusk (usually around 8:30pm). All movies are on Thursday evenings and are free admission. Just bring a lawn chair and some snacks.


Boone 4th of July Parade
July 4

The annual Downtown Boone 4th of July Parade will travel east on King Street, starting at the intersection with Poplar Grove Extension and ending at Legends. Following the parade, the Town of Boone continues the celebration with free cookies and refreshments on the lawn of the Jones House.



Fireworks Extravaganza at Tweetsie
July 4
Enjoy one of the most popular summer events in the mountains. Head to Tweetsie Railroad for a spectacular fireworks show, starting at 9:30pm.



Symphony by the Lake at Chetola

July 26

The social event of the season is Symphony by the Lake at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock. This year's theme is "A Journey of Imagination." Enjoy a moving performance by the Symphony of the Mountains, surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge landscape. Take your seat on the grass by Chetola Lake. Gates open at 5:30 pm and the show begins at 7:30 pm. Bring a picnic or savor a catered meal. The grand finale will include fireworks. Click Here to Purchase Tickets
